Free entry

Randers Library organizes four outdoor group singing sessions in the dark from October 2026 to February 2027. The walk starts at Randers Rainforest and follows a gentle route across the railway bridge over Gudenåen to the bird tower and pavilion in Vorup Enge, approximately one kilometer in total. Participants walk with red flashlights provided by the library - red light preserves night vision.

Along the way and upon arrival, the group sings a handful of songs led by the library's music facilitator Mik Stegger. If the weather is good, it takes place under the open sky; otherwise, everyone moves into the pavilion. Afterwards, all participants are guided back to Randers Rainforest.

You only sign up for the dates you can attend. The first and last sessions start in twilight, while the city's glow illuminates the two middle sessions. Flashlight Singing is part of Play Danish Week 2026, which takes place in week 44.

Participation is free, but registration is required via the button on the page. Dress warmly, wear waterproof footwear, and bring a seat pad if you like. You must be able to walk a couple of kilometers and be comfortable moving without street lights. Participants take part at their own risk. Questions can be directed to Mik Stegger at mk@randersbib.dk.
