Exhibition: Art on the Brain

The exhibition "Art on the Brain" brings neuroscience and art into dialogue - not as opposites, but as two ways of exploring the world. Neuroscientists from DANDRITE, Aarhus University, have transformed neurons, synapses, and the brain's smallest building blocks into images, shapes, and colours.

The works range from microscopic universes that reveal the brain's hidden landscapes to handcrafted interpretations of neural patterns. Materials and expression vary from work to work - just as the brain itself contains many forms and functions. Visitors can also write down their thoughts and questions and hang them on the work "Yarn Brain".

DANDRITE is a centre for basic brain research at Aarhus University, where different disciplines collaborate to understand how the brain functions, develops, and changes - from molecules to behaviour.

The exhibition is shown at Torvet (room: Torvet) from 22/9 to 30/9 during Dokk1's opening hours. On Friday 25/9 at 17:30-18:30, one of the artists behind the exhibition, Andrea Moreno, gives the lecture "Art and neuroscience - what happens when the brain meets art?". The event is part of the Folk University's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds.
