Local History Collection
Lystrup Bibliotek, Lystrup · Free
The Local Archive for Lystrup-Elsted-Elev-Nye preserves original documents, photographs, films, maps and church records related to Lystrup, Elsted and Elev parishes in Aarhus Municipality. The collection allows visitors to research local houses, farms, families and business history.
The archive is open every Monday from 3 to 5 p.m., when the volunteer team is available. Visits outside these hours can be arranged directly with the archive director. Materials cannot be borrowed, but photocopies can be made and photographs can be ordered if the archive holds the negatives.
Donations can be made during the library's regular opening hours - hand materials to the librarian with your name, address and phone number so archive staff can follow up if needed. The archive welcomes memories, photographs and documents from the three parishes, particularly material that illustrates life in the villages and the railway town of Lystrup before the merger with Aarhus.
Registered materials can be searched at www.arkiv.dk. Archive director Marianne Vasard Nielsen can be reached at marianne.vasard@gmail.com. Archive website: https://lystrup-elsted-elev-nye-lokalhistorie.dk/
