Poetry Slam KBH Championship Qualifier Round 3 · Valby Kulturhus, Copenhagen

Poetry Slam KBH Championship at Valby Kulturhus: Friday 6 November 2026, 20:00–22:30, Valby Kulturhus, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 40–80 kr.

The third qualifying round of the KBH Championship in poetry slam. Expect funny, quirky, and serious poems - and everything in between: poetic texts, stories, literary curiosities, and genre hybrids in the broadest sense. Poetry slam is a competition in spoken word with humor and nerve, and above all thought-provoking entertainment.

The championship consists of three qualifying rounds in September, October, and November 2026, plus a final in January 2027, where the new KBH champion will be crowned. The evening is hosted by former slam DM winner Peter Dyreborg together with co-host Rasmus Rhode. As feature performer, Frej Haar from Malmö - a Danish-Swedish poet and former Swedish and European poetry slam champion - will perform.

Competing in the slam competition in qualifier round 3 are: Lasse Nyholm Jensen, Rei McKay Mansa, Frida Øster Sørensen, Nicky Høg Hermansen Gerlich, Valdemar Brobæk, Cathrine Honoré, Heine Gade Kristensen, Alma Risted Thordal Nielsen, Jonas Al Rubaii, and Torsten Storm Sletbjerg. If you want to slam in the competition yourself, you can read more at https://poetryslamkbh.wordpress.com/info-om-kbh.../

The show runs from 20:00 to approximately 22:30 including a break, and doors open approximately 30 minutes before showstart - Bastard Café in Valby Kulturhus opens earlier. Buy tickets in advance: it's cheaper, and students get a discount. Tickets available here: https://www.place2book.com/da/sw2/sales/event_list/EM7584

General trigger warning: poetry slam can be fun and entertaining, but also serious and emotionally charged. The performers sometimes address sensitive topics that can evoke strong feelings in the audience and in some cases may feel boundary-crossing. The audience is encouraged to approach the show with an open mind, but is also welcome to be moved. If a topic gets too close, you are welcome to leave the room for a while - preferably discreetly so it doesn't affect others' experience. Also be aware that the sound level from the stage and audience can be overwhelming and overstimulating for some, for example people with autism.
