Politimuseet LIVE. Pusher Street: Close to Denmark's Most Debated Street with Carsten Norton

Author Carsten Norton has written the first comprehensive documentary account of Pusher Street - the hash street known worldwide. The book traces the street's development from the 1970s social experiment through the deterioration with the rockers' arrival in the 1980s and the professionalization of criminal networks to today, when an era seems to be coming to an end. At the event, he is in conversation with museum director Frederik Strand about the book's creation and the street's history.

The account tells the stories of the people who live, work, and operate in and around the street: hippies, hash dealers, clippers, runners, smugglers, wholesalers, police officers, tourists, Christianites, politicians, and passersby - young and old, smokers and casual visitors alike.

Politimuseet LIVE is the museum's conversation event where visitors can learn more about the police and the criminal underworld, past and present, after closing hours. The ticket also gives free access to the Police Museum's exhibitions the same day, and there is an opportunity to buy refreshments at the event.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and podcast recordings start at 5:00 p.m. - arrive in good time as doors close shortly after. The event takes place on the museum's 3rd floor. The building unfortunately has no elevator, so access is only by stairs.
