HENDRIX (Slight Return) is a tribute band formed in 2024 in Thisted, dedicated to celebrating Jimi Hendrix's music. The trio delivers legendary classics such as "Purple Haze", "Foxy Lady", "All Along The Watchtower", "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", and many others with high intensity and deep commitment. Like Jimi Hendrix's live performances, the band improvises and jams freely, always with a focus on the music.
The band is led by guitarist and vocalist Martin Jepsen Andersen, known from Danish bands Blindstone and Meridian. Over his 40-year music career, he has worked with prominent musicians including George Clinton, Billy Preston, Bobby Womack, Walter Trout, and Tommy DeCarlo. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big), Brad Gillis (Nightranger, Ozzy Osbourne), Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Jack Russell (Great White), and Robin McAuley (Michael Schenker). Martin discovered Hendrix's music at age 10 and credits it as the reason he started playing guitar.
Bassist Jesper Dam Larsen is an experienced musician from Aalborg's music scene, having played with members of Mnemic, Pretty Maids, and Mercenary. Drummer Biskit Brændgaard is a Danish-American percussionist known for his energetic and inventive style, blending jazz and rock elements characteristic of Hendrix's music.
