WHITEOUT
Teater Momentum, Odense · 0–200 kr. · ≈ 27 €
An arctic whiteout erases all sense of direction and place - much like grief can paralyze and disorient. WHITEOUT brings the audience close to loss, unbearable thoughts, shame, and the taboos surrounding suicide, yet the performance also holds something life-affirming: the ability to reconnect with one another and gratitude for having had someone in your life.
Grief and longing are embodied through dance - as are hope and faith in life's meaning. The performance explores what many bereaved people describe: how loss sharpens our awareness of the value of relationships and community.
WHITEOUT won the Reumert Award 2025 for Best Dance Performance. Critics have written:
"WHITEOUT is a breakthrough of dimensions." - Information, Anne Middelboe Christensen
"I've never had suicide close to my life. But the performance pulled me into a state of loss so insistent that it penetrated deeply." - Peripeti, Cecilie Ullerup Schmidt
"Whiteout reminds us of the value of relationships, despite the price of love." - ISCENE, Dorte Grannov Balslev
"Rarely has a dance performance managed to convey a spiritual state so precisely and authentically as here." - CPH CULTURE, Michael Søby
"... an infinitely beautiful work" - SCENEBLOG, Casper Koeller
