This lecture examines the French paradox: what lies behind the crisis, how it may shape the upcoming presidential election, and whether there is a way out of it.

About the venue: Kulturhuset Elværket

Kulturhuset Elværket occupies Frederikssund's former municipal power station, built in 1914 and converted into a cultural centre in 1994 by the architectural firm Mangor & Nagel. It is run by Elværksforeningen, a private user association of around 130 member groups. The building holds a main hall for up to 250 people, a café with rotating art exhibitions, and two smaller meeting rooms. Music, theatre, lectures and courses fill the programme - typically more than 1,000 events a year.
