Bird watching tour at Fyrkat Engsø — Fyrkat Møllegård, Hobro

Fyrkat Engsø is located in Onsild Ådal west of Hobro near the Viking fortress Fyrkat. The lake was recreated in spring 2009. In practice, Fyrkat Engsø is a wetland with seven larger or smaller lakes that host a fairly varied bird life.

On a couple of hours' walk along the lakes, we can hopefully see all the common birds associated with the lakes, but there is certainly also a chance of spotting more exciting species.

The breeding season is over in September, but there is a chance of encountering many of the local breeding birds such as Little, Red-throated and Crested Grebes, Mute Swan, Mallard, Pintail, Teal, Greylag Goose, Water Rail, Coot and Marsh Harrier. Many small birds also breed here, and if we are lucky we will see Bearded Reedlings.

The tour is approximately 4 km. We take a break along the way, so feel free to bring a refreshment.
