Rodfæstet

Rodfæstet - a theatre concert featuring songs that live within us - is Aarhus Theatre's third original theatre concert, following the Reumert-winning "The Sound of the Shoulders We Stand On" and "Night - a theatre concert". This time, a number of Danish musicians have personally selected and interpreted songs and hymns from our shared cultural heritage - songs tied to a specific place, a state of mind, or a particular way of connecting with the world.

The musicians do not perform themselves, but their songs are woven into a new work by resident artist Marie Koldkjær Højlund. Director Nicolei Faber and set designer Christian Albrechtsen create the visual expression - the same artistic trio that created "The Sound of the Shoulders We Stand On". On stage are Aarhus Theatre's actors, a live band, and Aarhus Theatre's Choir.

The performance takes place on the Main Stage, Thursday 6 May 2027 at 19:30 at Aarhus Theatre, Skolegade 4, 8000 Aarhus C.
