Neurospicy - ADHD as a Driving Force in a Life of Radical Change - Jim Latrache-Qvortrup
1. Hovedbiblioteket, Randers · 75 kr. · ≈ 10 €
In 2017, Jim Latrache-Qvortrup played the undercover character Mr. James in the DR documentary Muldvarpen - and came up with a company name on the spot in a basement in Pyongyang.
His life has been marked by radical shifts: he is the son of a Moroccan migrant worker and a Danish working-class mother, lived in institutions, served in the French Foreign Legion, and spent eight years in prison for cocaine trafficking. Only at age 38 did he truly learn to read and write, and shortly after he was diagnosed with dyslexia.
He calls ADHD his "slave name" - a concept he and his wife Nicoline explore in the book NEUROSPICY - My Wild ADHD Brain. He refuses to view his brain as sick and instead shares the method he used to turn what society calls a disability into a strength. The message is simple: it is not our brains that are the problem - it is the framework around us.
The lecture takes place in the Cultural Centre hall, Stemannsgade 2, Randers C. Questions can be directed to Lena Koldsø.
