Christmas Tour - The Old Fishing Boats and World Heritage — Gilleleje Museum, Gilleleje

The tour begins at the large anchor by Havnevej in Gilleleje and follows the fishing history before and after the harbour's construction - including the old Nordic tradition of clinker-built boats and other working vessels.

Along the way we move into the ship halls at Gilleleje Museum, where the tour concludes with a glass of warm mulled wine and Christmas greetings.

About the venue: Gilleleje Museum

Gilleleje Museum is a local history museum that has told the story of this North Zealand fishing village since 1929. Four buildings cover everyday fishing life, early summer-holiday culture, and the German occupation - including the rescue of Danish Jews to Sweden in October 1943, documented through eyewitness accounts and one of the original dinghies used in the escape. The Skibshallerne hall holds some of Denmark's oldest surviving fishing boats. The museum is part of Museum Nordsjælland and opens seasonally.
