God, Rainbow and Fatherland

Christian. Muslim. Gay. Palestinian. West Jutlander. The married couple Mahmoud-Æbelø carry many labels, and according to large parts of the polarized public debate, they should not be able to live under the same roof. Yet they have done so for ten years.

Andreas and Abdel tell the story of how seemingly incompatible worlds can meet - with family, worldview, and self-respect intact. Using the tools of the rhetorician and journalist, they address current themes such as diversity, offense, identity debate, and equality, and they invite the audience into a conversation about how each of us can contribute to coexistence where we are.

Abdel Aziz Mahmoud is a journalist with a long career at DR as editor and TV and radio host, former development editor at Nordisk Film TV, and author. He has received numerous awards, including TV Host of the Year (TV Prisen), Communicator of the Year (K-Forum), Readers' Book Prize (Berlingske and Bibliotekerne), Conversation of the Year (Prix Audio), LGBT Person of the Year, and Rainbow Awards. Andreas Gylling Æbelø is a management consultant, speaker, and co-author of the bestselling book The Lost Sons.
