Nature Walks - Gentle Mobilization in the Name of Climate Action

The walk starts at Kulturhuset Islands Brygge and covers six to eight kilometers across Amager Fælled. Along the way, there are four to five reading stops where authors read from literary and philosophical texts about nature, humanity, and climate action - with time for discussion about the texts, climate, and biodiversity. The walk takes three to four hours. Bring a packed lunch, water, and snacks.

The event is organized by Forfattere ser grønt, a group of authors working against the biodiversity and climate crisis. The group was founded in January 2021 and has since organized readings, opinion pieces, petition campaigns, and actions. Read more at www.forfatteresergroent.dk

Three of the group's co-founders participate in this walk. Ursula Andkjær Olsen (b. 1970) debuted in 2000 with the poetry collection Lulus sange and has since published 12 poetry collections, most recently Transformationsmanualen and Æsken med forvandlinger, created with visual artist Sophia Kalkau. She was rector of Forfatterskolen 2019-2023, is a member of Det Danske Akademi, and has received awards including the Montana Literature Prize and the Prince Henrik Prize.

Maja Lucas (b. 1978) debuted with the short prose collection Jegfortællinger (2007) and published her seventh book, the poetry collection Tennisdigte, in spring. She has been teaching writing since 2005, including at the University of Southern Denmark, was nominated for the Critics' Prize in 2016, and received a three-year grant from the Danish Arts Foundation in 2024. Jesper Stein (b. 1965), author and journalist, debuted in 2012 with the crime novel Uro and has since followed up with a series of novels about Axel Steen. With Lejr (2025) and Terræn (2026), he is moving into a more autofictional genre. He has received the Danish Crime Academy's Debut Prize, the Golden Laurels, and the Readers' Book Prize.
