Helga Isager: Knitting as Art and Craft

Helga Isager is co-owner of Isager, a yarn company that has supplied Scandinavian knit design and quality natural-fibre yarn to knitters worldwide since 1977. Through her brand Amimono, she has placed traditional techniques in a contemporary context with a focus on simplicity and elegance. She is also a guest lecturer at Skals - School for Design and Handicraft and an international speaker.

At Fredensborg Library, she shares her background and brings a selection of knitted pieces to discuss the considerations she makes when designing. Afterwards, participants will knit samples using some of the techniques she employs - so bring your knitting supplies.

Following the workshop, the evening continues at the yarn shop Garnvärk across the street, a co-organizer. Here you can purchase Helga Isager's patterns and books and have them signed, and explore the shop's selection of quality yarn.
