Literary walk: Ancient myths in Fredensborg Palace Garden — Fredensborg Bibliotek, Fredensborg
Free entry

Ancient stories and myths form the foundation of Western literature in many ways. Traces from antiquity run through everyday language and society's structures - the ancient world is not merely dusty historical material, but a body of thought that remains alive and relevant today.

On this walk, we move through Fredensborg Palace Garden, which is full of motifs and references to antiquity, while we unfold both wild and pertinent myths. Myths are not only supernatural tales - they are also imaginative answers to familiar phenomena: Why do we have seasons? Where does the world's first spider come from? Why are humans mortal? Along the way, we draw on Homeric hymns and heroic epics.

The walk starts and ends at the car park by Fredensborg Palace Garden.
