Watch the Film Adaptation of the Novel 'Dune'

Denis Villeneuve's 2021 film unfolds in a future universe where control of a single planet can determine the fate of an entire galaxy. At its centre is the young Paul Atreides, caught in political forces he neither sought nor can escape from, and his path leads him into a desert full of secrets - and into a people who have survived it.

The film won six Academy Awards for cinematography, editing, music, visual effects, production design, and sound. It forms the backdrop for a conversation about what a film adaptation can do that the book cannot - and vice versa.

This event is the second and final part of "Read the Book, Watch the Film". The first part was a reading club about the novel on 16 November, but everyone is welcome regardless of whether you participated then.
