Stone and Fossil Day

The event is open to everyone - whether you collect fossils regularly or are simply curious about what lies hidden in stone and soil.

You can bring your own finds and examine a collection of fossils and stones, including porphyries, kinnediabas and moler from Fur, as well as volcanic stones from Sicily. Classic Danish fossils such as giant boulders and fairy stones are also represented. Along the way, we draw a large cross-section of a sea cucumber together and examine its structure.

There is also an opportunity to learn about Jysk Stenklub, discover more about fossils and geology, and browse old issues of the member magazine Stenhuggeren.
