Make Your Own Adventure Film (Drop-in Workshop for Children and Families) — Hovedbiblioteket, Odense

This workshop draws inspiration from classic fairy tales and fantastic stories, which serve as the starting point for participants' own short animated films. Children and adults work with imagination, characters, and visual storytelling through stop motion animation, where still images are combined to create moving sequences.

The session begins with a brief introduction to animation and stop motion. Participants then develop their own short stories inspired by the fairy tales on hand. The workshop uses figures, cut-outs, toys, paper and cardboard, markers, tape, glue sticks, and scenic materials and backdrops. Films are recorded on a mobile phone using the free Stop Motion Studio app - assistance is available throughout.

The finished films typically take 1-3 hours to produce, depending on ambition level and how long you want to spend on storytelling and animation.

The workshop is supported by the H.C. Andersen Foundation and is part of Andersen Forever - marking 150 years since H.C. Andersen's death. Read more about Guldastronaut.
