Elmville | Open Listening #2

Elmville calls itself a cult - not a band - from the imaginary village of Elmville. The five members play folk-tinged emo, alternative metal and horrorpunk, and at this Open Listening session they open up their universe: the music, the people, and the mysterious region behind it all.

Beyond the concert, we listen to records and CDs throughout the evening and discuss B-movies, quirky pop culture, and the question of why old horror films and their soundtracks still fascinate us. What kind of shared unconscious do they speak to?

Elmville consists of: A girl named Fyrtårn (vocals), Frank (lead guitar), Ludvig (rhythm guitar), Noah (bass) and Jonathan (drums).

Open Listening is an ongoing series at the Music Library, where young voices from Roskilde's music and art scene share their own work and music that inspires them - records, CDs, tapes and online finds - which we listen to together. Selected concerts are recorded and released on the library's record label Haralda Records. The event takes place on Scenen. The library is accessible by wheelchair, walker and stroller, and people with hearing disabilities are welcome to bring their own assistive devices.
