Surroundings that Make the Brain Happy - Nature and Architecture
Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus · Free
How do our physical surroundings affect the brain, body and mind?
Two researchers explore the latest knowledge in neuroarchitecture, health design and the relationship between nature and human wellbeing. Zakaria Djebbara, lecturer in architecture and cognitive neuroscience at Aalborg University, and Dorthe Varning Poulsen, lecturer in nature-based therapy and health promotion at Copenhagen University, examine how everything from ceiling height, sound and light to green environments and nature-based design can shape our behaviour, mental health and sense of wellbeing.
They also look at what this knowledge means for future construction, treatment options and everyday choices - from how we arrange our homes and gardens to the way we use cities and nature.
The conversation is moderated by science journalist Line Friis Frederiksen and is part of the Folk University's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds. Venue: Rampen.
