Become a Creepy-Crawly Microbiologist for a Day!

The activity starts in a circle where we talk about small creatures and how to care for them. Then the children make their own observation jars by setting up jam jars with leaves, bark and twigs from the forest floor - so the animals get a safe temporary home.

With magnifying glasses in hand, we hunt under stones, branches and in bushes for everything from millipedes and snails to spiders. Finally, we examine the animals up close, count legs, share fun facts and carefully release them all again.
