Horsens Library livestreams Zadie Smith's author conversation from the International Author Stage at the Black Diamond, where she is the main guest in connection with receiving the H.C. Andersen Literature Prize 2026.

At 18:00 the evening salon opens, where facilitator Thomas Vang Glud introduces Smith's authorship while a vegetarian sandwich is served. The conversation is broadcast live from 19:00 and takes place in English until 20:30.

Smith made her debut with White Teeth in 2000 and has since published essays, short stories, plays, children's books and novels - a body of work that moves across generations, cultures and classes with the human being, shaped by its roots, at the centre.

The library provides coffee or tea; bring your own cup. The event takes place in Lysningen on the 1st floor. Tickets must be purchased by Monday, 5 October 2026 at 12:00.

About the venue: Horsens Bibliotek

Horsens Bibliotek is the municipality's three-floor main library, housed in Tobaksgården. Alongside its book and media collections it offers study spaces, meeting rooms, a children's section and a café. The programme includes film screenings, author evenings, reading clubs and a repair café, and the library organises the annual Crime Fair held at FÆNGSLET. A local history collection on the second floor covers Horsens and the surrounding area.
