Film Night: Norwegian Drama

The film club meets on the last Monday of the month at Aabenraa Library to watch a film and discuss it afterwards.

This time it's a Norwegian drama from 2023 about Sámi identity. The story is set in northern Norway in 1979, where the Sámi people fight for their identity and against the planned hydroelectric power plant in the Alta River. At the centre of the conflict is the young Norwegian teacher Ester, who has denied her Sámi background her whole life to fit in - but now confronts decades of oppression and hidden racism. The film is based on true events.

Coffee and tea are served, and you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. Registration is not required.
