Design a Board Game - Create Magic in the World of Play

Design Your Own Board Game Workshop: 15 October – 17 October 2026, Hovedbiblioteket, Odense.

During Magiske Dage, you can design your own board game from scratch - alone or with others. The workshop is based on "The Magic Circle": the game's ability to draw the player into a universe through story, mechanics, and aesthetic choices in components and materials.

Programme:
- Thursday 15/10, 10:00-12:00: Joint kickoff where game designer Morten Blaabjerg introduces the fundamentals of game design, and participants brainstorm ideas. Afterwards, work continues with the option of personal guidance.
- Friday 16/10: Independent work. The library's workshop area is open during library hours with coaching available throughout the day.
- Saturday 17/10, 10:00-14:00: Participants meet to play each other's finished games. A jury of industry professionals gives feedback, and a winner is chosen by group vote. There are game prizes for the best games.

The event is flexible - you can work from home, visit other festival activities, or use the library's facilities between sessions. All necessary materials are available in the workshop area throughout the entire process.
