Roskilde Cathedral Girls' Choir & Roskilde Chamber Ensemble

Roskilde Cathedral Girls' Choir celebrates its anniversary with a concert at Roskilde Cathedral on Saturday, 10 October 2026 at 19:30. The choir performs in collaboration with Roskilde Chamber Ensemble from the Cultural School, conducted by Mette Bjærang Søberg. Doors open half an hour before the concert starts.

The first part of the programme features Mårten Jansson's Missa Popularis, performed by the choir with strings from the Cultural School. The Swedish composer's work draws on the classical mass and Nordic folk music traditions.

The concert also includes the world premiere of Arnannguaq Gerstrøm's Nittaalaq piffitsinni perortoq (Snowflake in the Embrace of Time). The choir has previously performed parts of the piece, but here the composition is presented for the first time in its complete form. Drawing on Inuit worldview, the work follows the snowflake's journey from creation to dissolution and memory.
