Børkop Bibliotek, Børkop · 34–70 kr. · ≈ 4.5–9 €
Author Talk with Kim Fupz Aakeson: Tuesday 27 October 2026, 19:00–21:00, Børkop Bibliotek, Børkop. Tickets cost 34–70 kr.
In the novel 'The Shadow Before Me', we follow a man released after many years in prison. He has committed murder and now tries to discover who he is outside prison walls - and whether there is any way forward at all. The narrative moves between the time before, during and after his imprisonment, circling around guilt, shame, grief, faith and social inheritance.
This evening Kim Fupz Aakeson meets with prison chaplain Tove Madsen for a conversation about the novel and the questions it raises. What does it mean to atone? What does guilt do to a person? And what does the possibility of forgiveness look like when you have done something that cannot be undone?
The conversation also touches on the work behind the novel - Aakeson's research and his interest in people in moral grey zones.
