On November 2nd, it was 50 years since author and graphic designer Dea Trier Mørch published the novel 'Winterchildren' - a collective novel about 18 women admitted to Rigshospitalet's department for complicated pregnancies and births in the winter of 1974. The book draws on the author's own experiences giving birth to three children in five years at the same hospital between 1970-1975, and in 1978 it was adapted into a film by Astrid Henning-Jensen.

Historian and author Pernille Ipsen gives a lecture on the novel: what did Dea Trier Mørch capture with her story about women and childbirth, and why do so many people still read the book half a century later?

The lecture is based on Pernille Ipsen's forthcoming biography 'Spring - Dea Trier Mørch in Art and Life', published by Gyldendal in October. The event is organized in collaboration with the Danish Library Association.
