Learn to Survive in Nature - free outdoor day: Friday 6 November 2026, 14:00–18:00, Biblioteket i Herning, Herning. Admission is free.

On November 6, 2026, Herning Library marks Emergency Preparedness Day with a free day at Tinghuspladsen in front of Herning Libraries, Østergade 8. No registration needed - just show up.

The programme features hands-on activities with practical outdoor and emergency skills. Nature guides Line and Elsebeth demonstrate how to start a fire in multiple ways - even in challenging conditions. "Mads from Friluftværkstedet" guides you in carving your own wooden cutlery and offers advice on safe knife and tool use.

The event is part of the thematic collaboration "Together on Emergency Preparedness", a partnership between DR, Østifterne, Danske Folkeoplysnings Samråd, and Libraries. The collaboration focuses on emergency preparedness as a practical, social, mental, and cultural dimension - including how we understand crises, talk about them, and help each other.
