Morning Song at Skakbrættet - Piano Inauguration: Monday 19 October 2026, 09:30–11:15, Hovedbiblioteket, Viborg.

Over the summer, Skakbrættet has acquired a piano donated by Karen Kjærulf, a conservatory-trained music pedagogue who was there from the start when Viborg Music School was founded. Over the years, countless students have played on the instrument, and now it finds a permanent place in the town's community life as a companion to the morning song.

Karen Kjærulf is today's song host together with her daughter Anne, and the two have chosen the communal songs that set the tone for the season's first morning song. Mayor Katrine Fusager Rohde is a special guest and will say a few words for the occasion. Anders Hjorth Nielsen sits at the piano, and church singer Lis Bæk leads the singing.

After the communal singing, the library invites everyone for coffee and kransekake at Skakbrættet.
