Svartsot + support: Deadflesh
Svartsot + Deadflesh live: Saturday 19 December 2026, 20:00, Copenhagen.
Since forming in 2005, Svartsot have shaped the Danish folk metal scene by fusing folk and medieval melodies with the weight of death metal. Bagpipes, whistles and mandolin sit alongside heavy guitars, growled vocals and a driving rhythmic base, and the band draws its material from Danish folk songs, historical events and old legends, turning them into a modern metal format.
Across six albums the sound has been refined further, most recently on 'Peregrinus', released for their 20th anniversary and recorded with Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios. Svartsot have played festivals including Wacken, Graspop, Roskilde Festival and Copenhell, toured widely across Europe, and built a name for energetic, celebratory live shows that don't shy away from heaviness. On Friday 19 December, they play BETA with a set of melodic folk metal and Danish storytelling - their last Copenhagen show of the year.
Support comes from Deadflesh, an old-school death metal band from Roskilde active since 1994, drawing on influences like Bolt Thrower, Obituary, Autopsy and early Six Feet Under. Guttural vocals, heavy guitars and a thunderous rhythm section carry songs about war, conflict and darker sides of human nature, translated live into an aggressive, high-energy performance.
Standing room only. If the show sells out in advance, no tickets will be sold at the door. Doors open one hour before showtime. More info at www.amagerbio.dk.
