From Deployed to Imprisoned - A Personal Story

From Deployed to Imprisoned - Personal Story: Tuesday 17 November 2026, 19:00–21:00, Herlev Medborgerhus, Herlev. Tickets cost 175 kr.

A personal account from real life about how an ordinary young man ended up in Vestre Prison just six months after serving in war for Denmark. In a short time, his life was turned upside down and filled with anger, violence, drugs, crime, and gambling addiction, and at one point thoughts of ending it all.

He tells about the day he accidentally shot two of his friends, and how participation in the war in Iraq had major consequences for the next 10 years of his life. The road back to a healthy and meaningful life was hard and exhausting, and that part of the story is also told.

Today life has meaning, and the purpose of the lecture is to provide inspiration for dealing with mental challenges - one's own or others'.
