Salsa Workshop for Beginners

Salsa Workshop for Beginners: 22 November – 30 May 2026, Hotel Sidesporet, Holbæk. Tickets cost 100 kr.

Hotel Sidesporet in Holbæk hosts salsa workshops on selected Sundays in autumn 2026 and spring 2027, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The price is 100 kr. per person, and everyone is welcome regardless of age.

You will learn Cuban salsa, where one person leads and the other follows. Typically a man dances with a woman, but you can also sign up as a pair of two women or two men. If you sign up as a single, you should be prepared to be paired with a partner as needed.

After learning the basic steps for both leader and follower, you will dance in a rueda, where you change partners as you move around the circle. The programme covers the fundamental steps and figures in Cuban salsa: Vuelta, Enchufla, Enchufla Doble and Sententa, and possibly also Dile-que-no and Dame Una, depending on how far you progress. The workshop is primarily aimed at beginners, but you are welcome to participate multiple times - whether new figures are covered depends on whether new beginners continue to join.

The instruction is led by Jean-Paul Bardou and Betina Lund-Nielsen, who have been dancing salsa for nearly 20 years and teaching in Copenhagen for the past 10 years.
