Sunbörn

Sunbörn live: Friday 9 April 2027, 20:00–21:00, Teater Momentum, Odense. Tickets cost 0–200 kr.

Sunbörn (formerly KutiMangoes) blends groovy sunshine beats with virtuoso, jazzy horns into a global sound that builds bridges between cultures. The band has released 4 albums and won 4 Danish Music Awards, most recently as "Live Act of the Year", and has toured across much of Europe as well as China, South Korea, and West Africa. The music moves between jazz, fusion, and world music, combining handcrafted musicianship with jazzy arrangements and electronic sounds.

The 6-piece Danish group articulates its own vision: "We humans are all born under the same sun, and despite our different backgrounds and experiences, we have most things in common. Music speaks to our shared humanity at a time when the world needs to reach out to one another."

On the latest album, Earth is Begging, Sunbörn collaborates with Italian producer/DJ Clap! Clap! (known from collaborations with Paul Simon and the Warp record label). The album is released on the British label Wah Wah 45s and features guests including Dele Sosimi (UK/NG), Carolina Lelis (BR), and Etuk Ubong (NG). It has been played on BBC, JazzFM, Worldwide FM France, and Polish National Radio, among others.
