Friday Story: Europe's Largest Artwork: 16 October – 27 November 2026, CHPEA Museum, Herning. Tickets cost 25 kr.

The story tells of when Carl-Henning Pedersen created Europe's largest artwork in Herning. The tour begins in the exhibition "Angli Avantgarden" and continues out into the inner Angli courtyard, where you stand in the midst of the monumental work.

About the venue: CHPEA Museum

Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelt Museum (CHPEA) opened in 1976 in Birk Centerpark, east of Herning, and holds more than 6,000 works - paintings, watercolours, sculptures and mosaics - by the CoBrA artists Carl-Henning Pedersen and Else Alfelt. The circular original building, designed by C.F. Møller, is surrounded by a moat and clad in ceramic tiles populated with fantastical figures. In 2015 an underground corridor was added, connecting the museum to the Angli courtyard where Pedersen's monumental frieze "The Play of Imagination around the Wheel of Life" is on display. Alongside the permanent collection, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts and children's activities.
