Cold War in the Baltic Sea - Personal Account: Saturday 24 October 2026, 10:45–16:30, Fredensborg Bibliotek, Fredensborg. Admission is free.

Patrol sailing along the Warsaw Pact coasts, Russian submarine exercises, and fleet visits to Leningrad under KGB surveillance - this was part of Second Lieutenant Egon Erlandsen's daily work in the Danish Navy during the Cold War from 1970 to 1972.

Based on his own experiences, he shares this period in a personal lecture. The event is arranged in collaboration with Fredensborg Folkeuniversitet.

The lecture is free, but the number of tickets is limited. Tickets for the lecture and the emergency preparedness day can be ordered via the link to the emergency preparedness day.

The lecture takes place in Room C at Fredensborg Library.

About the venue: Fredensborg Bibliotek

Fredensborg Bibliotek is on the first floor of Jernbanegade, a short walk from Fredensborg Castle. It caters especially to families, schoolchildren and students, with a family area for play and read-alouds, a homework zone with whiteboard and sofa, and a newspaper reading room. Beyond books, music and films, local associations can borrow three meeting rooms, and the library regularly hosts talks, workshops and other cultural events.
