SF Film Club Solaris Presents: 2 Rare Vintage Sci-Fi Films
Sunday we present two rare sci-fi films from cinema history's archives.
At 17:30 we start with a Japanese satire from 1958 (in colour) about marketing and corporate espionage between three rival caramel producers. Whether it is actually a sci-fi film is hard to say - the aesthetic points in that direction, and we shall see. One critic has called it "the greatest film you've never seen". The film is directed by Yasuzo Masamura and runs 95 minutes.
After a short break we continue around 19:15 with the evening's second film: an even lesser-known Spanish sci-fi/horror/crime drama from 1973, directed by Eloy de la Iglesia and with a runtime of 97 minutes. It tells of a mysterious nurse with a bizarre idea about how to relieve suffering patients, and appears influenced by 'A Clockwork Orange' from 1971.
Both films are shown from Blu-ray on a large screen with English subtitles. The event is free and takes place at Støberiet, 3rd floor, with entrance via Blågårds Plads 5 - access is available by stairs or lift. Everyone over 15 is welcome, and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks.
