Vildskabens Veje - Nature Film from Kragelund Mose
Grindsted Kino, Grindsted · 100 kr. - free for DN-members
DN Billund has organized several trips to Kragelund Mose in recent years, where participants have witnessed the area's unique nature and learned about efforts to give natural processes more room to flourish. The screening of Vildskabens Veje is a perfect way to reflect on these visits - this time through the film's images and narrative.
Vildskabens Veje is a sensory nature film about Kragelund Mose and how a natural area can change dramatically in just ten years when nature's own processes are allowed to take their course. Land manager Martin Sandager has spent years restoring and expanding the old wetland, where large herbivores such as horses, water buffalo, cattle, and pigs live. Their grazing, trampling, and movement create variation in the landscape and new opportunities for plants, insects, birds, and other animals.
In the film, biologist Skjold Søndergård discusses the importance of large animals for landscape and biodiversity, while Jeppe Svendsen's footage brings us close to the animals, plants, and living landscape. The film shows some of the essential steps toward a more varied and species-rich nature. It runs approximately 45 minutes.
After the film, you can meet Martin Sandager and Jeppe Svendsen, who will talk about the work at Kragelund Mose and the making of the film. There is also an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a discussion about nature restoration, large herbivores, biodiversity, and the future of nature management. The event is organized in collaboration with DN Billund.
