Sunday Film at Dokk1: The Last Paradise on Earth
Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus · Free
Dokk1 and Aarhus Series & Film Festival present a free Sunday film screening at Dokk1 as part of the festival. This time you can watch 'The Last Paradise on Earth', a story about the struggle for survival on an isolated island in one of the world's smallest countries.
The film follows the grounded and romantic Kári, who loves the simple life in his small village on one of the Faroe Islands' most remote islands. Times are changing: the fish factory, which is the community's only source of income, faces closure, and the workers - Kári among them - must find a solution. While most young people on the island dream of leaving, Kári chooses to stay. He is at peace with things as they are, and faces the challenges head-on rather than seeking a better future elsewhere. For him, his hometown is the last paradise on earth.
The film is directed by Sakaris Stórá and produced by Jon Hammer.
Every first Sunday of the month, Dokk1 shows films - a mix of documentaries and feature films, Danish and foreign, new and old, including animated films. This film will be shown in the Small Hall.
