Film Screening: Beautiful and Moving Japanese Feature Film

The film follows Hiroyama (Kôji Yakushi, who won the Best Actor award at Cannes for the role) as he works as a cleaner at Tokyo's public toilets. He eats at the same place every day, buys used books and reads himself to sleep - and during his drives he keeps company with a small collection of cassette tapes featuring Lou Reed, Patti Smith and other classics from days gone by.

In Wim Wenders' direction, these small everyday elements grow into a humanistic tribute to life in all its simple, everyday beauty.
