Film Screening: Beautiful and Moving Japanese Feature Film

The film follows Hiroyama (Kôji Yakushi, who won the acting prize at Cannes for the role), who works as a cleaner at Tokyo's public toilets. He eats at the same place every day, buys used books and reads himself to sleep - and on his drives he listens to a small collection of cassette tapes with Lou Reed, Patti Smith and other music from that era.

It may sound modest, but in Wim Wenders' hands, these small elements grow into a humanistic tribute to everyday life.
