Fathers & Sons

Fathers & Sons - seven men's stories: 23 November – 24 November 2026, C:NTACT, Frederiksberg. Admission is free.

Men with minority backgrounds are often talked about, but rarely heard from. As fathers, they are easily reduced to simplified stereotypes, while their own experiences, vulnerabilities, strengths and hopes rarely get a voice in public debate. Fathers & Sons instead gives space to the men's own stories.

On stage, the audience meets seven men who tell in their own words what it means to be a man of minority ethnicity - about love, responsibility, grief, failure and pride, and about finding one's place in both family and society.

The production is a revival of C:NTACT's very first production, created 20 years ago and restaged in 2026 by Youssef Wayne Hvidtfeldt. As the first revival quickly sold out, it is now shown again on the Edison Stage on 23 and 24 November. Author and musician Shahin Aakjær and actor Runi Lewerissa have helped develop the stories.

The production is supported by the Augustinus Foundation and is a collaboration between reality theatre C:NTACT, Baba - Foundation for Social Responsibility and NørreBrobyggerne.
