Anders Morgenthaler, Kristina Stoltz, Kasper Opstrup and Andrea Hejlskov gather for a conversation about AI, consciousness and animism, moderated by A Mock Book. The focus is consciousness in an age marked by planetary crisis and artificial intelligence: the consciousness of whales, trees and fungi, but also spirits, ancestors and AI.

Starting from the more-than-human perspective, the four explore what happens when we challenge the assumption that consciousness exists only in forms that resemble us. Does AI have an inner life, or do we simply project life, intention and personality into advanced text machines? And what can animism's view of consciousness as relational and graduated teach us about our relationship with other forms of consciousness?

The conversation thus revolves around AI, human exceptionalism and our way of understanding and navigating a changing world.
