Who Are You, Man? Author Conversation: Thursday 3 December 2026, 19:00–21:00, Roskilde Bibliotek, Roskilde. Tickets cost 25 kr.
What does it mean to be a man today? Is it still about gritting your teeth and cycling on when life hurts, or has there become room to talk about what is difficult, fragile, and changing? Ann Lind Andersen and Julia Lahme explore this question when Lind & Lahme Bogklub hosts a special evening at Roskilde Library.
Male life encompasses many versions: strength and vulnerability, ambitions and setbacks, community, love, sex, body, and identity - and the expectations one meets both from outside and within. It is precisely in the tension between different ideas of what a man should be that something interesting emerges.
Ann and Julia have invited five authors to the stage, each speaking about men, masculinity, and what it means to be a man. Brian Holm shares a life marked by cycling, adversity, illness, stubbornness, and the will to rise again, while Bastian Emil Goldschmidt opens up the world of cycling sports, where will, pain, heroes, and masculinity meet on the road.
Manu Sareen talks about a life phase many men face at some point: when the body changes, sex life shifts, and the question of who you are emerges anew. Carl-Christian Tippin Okking offers insight into boys' friendships and the invisible boundary of how much you can show of yourself if you want to belong. Jesper Stein takes us into a universe of desire, vanity, privilege, and ideas about the good life.
It will be an evening about men, people, and what shapes us, with room for both laughter, recognition, and reflection.
