OpenDays Festival: MGK Nord and Andras Olsen: Sunday 1 November 2026, 15:00–16:00, Nørresundby Gl. Rådhus, Nørresundby. Tickets cost 75–250 kr.
Waves up North invites you to OpenDays Festival - a 3-day festival for new composition and sound art, now in its 17th year. The festival highlights boundary-pushing and unconventional approaches to contemporary music.
This concert brings together students from MGK Nord, Aalborg Kulturskole, with trombonist and composer Andras Olsen. The programme features Wayne Siegel's "Jackdaw" for trombone and electronics, and Andras Olsen's own work "Kosmofoli" for MGK and trombone solo. Programme changes may occur.
The participating students are Helena Vennegaard Wolf and Ellen Agerskov on violin, Josefin Dechow, Veronika Novozhylov and Louise Nørgaard Larsen on flute, Emil Ankerstjerne, Marlene Kirkebak and Jacob Hamborg on vocals, Owen Li and Jacob Christensen on piano, Noah Steen Als on trumpet, Konrad Thomsen on cello, Sebastian Holm and Margrethe Haven on double bass, and Christian Mogensen on trombone.
Admission costs 150 kr., while a festival pass for all three days costs 250 kr. Students pay 75 kr. (festival pass 125 kr.), and children under 18 as well as members get free entry. Tickets and passes are sold via Billetto and can also be purchased at the door. The full festival programme is available on Waves up North's website, www.wavesupnorth.dk, or on the event's Facebook page.
