Waves up North invites you to OpenDays Festival - a 3-day festival for new composition and sound art, held for the 17th time this year. The festival brings together boundary-pushing and cutting-edge work in the field.

This concert features Ensemble Abstraktion: Charlotte Norholt (flute), Patricia Martín González (clarinet), Henrik Larsen (percussion), David Strong (piano), Anne Sophie Andersen (violin), Anna Jalving (viola) and Malthe Volfing Højager (cello), conducted by Robert Andrew Baker.

The programme includes Brigitta Muntendorf's (Germany, b. 1982) Shivers on speed for flute, clarinet, piano, violin & cello (2013), Mette Nielsen's (b. 1985) Together for clarinet solo & string trio (2021), Toru Takemitsu's (Japan, 1930-96) Toward the sea for alto flute & marimba (1981) in three movements (The night, Moby Dick, Cape Cod), and Robert Andrew Baker's (Canada/Denmark, b. 1970) no sunrise finds us where sunset left us for viola solo & ensemble (2026). Programme subject to change.

Admission costs 150 kr., while a festival pass for the entire festival costs 250 kr. Students pay 75 kr. (festival pass 125 kr.), and young people under 18 as well as members have free entry. Tickets and passes are sold via Billetto and at the entrance.

The rest of the festival programme can be found on the Facebook event or at www.wavesupnorth.dk. OpenDays Festival is a project under Waves up North, an international forum for new music and sound art based in Aalborg.
