Mad Heads is one of Ukraine's most renowned rock bands, founded in 1991 by singer, guitarist and songwriter Vadym Krasnookyi. The music blends ska, reggae, rockabilly and several other styles, and the band has released eight studio albums and over 30 music videos. They have performed more than 1,000 concerts in Ukraine and toured in 12 countries, with songs such as "Nadiya Ye" (There Is Hope) and "A Ya Na Mori" (And I'm at the Seaside). The latter has been used as a ringtone by over 2 million Ukrainian mobile subscribers, while the music video for "Smereka" has over 8 million views on YouTube - collectively, the band's songs have over 70 million views. In May 2026, the song "Pro liubov" (About Love) was released as part of the project "Zbyti Rymy" (Fallen Rhymes), where poems written by military poets have been set to music.
Vadym Krasnookyi is currently on a global solo charity tour, "Nadiya Ye" (There Is Hope), in support of Ukraine's armed forces. Since 2024, the tour has included over 150 concerts in 17 countries, including Europe, USA and Canada.
