This season's theme is Nordic composers, and the first stop is Norway.

Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) wrote his piano concerto in 1868 - one of his most popular works, perhaps only surpassed by the music to Peer Gynt, from which pieces such as "Morning Mood" and "In the Hall of the Mountain King" come. Piano Concerto in A Minor, op. 16 was the only piano concerto he managed to complete, and it is today counted among the most performed in the genre.
