Meet Author Sanne Søndergaard

In her ninth novel, Huset, Sanne Søndergaard follows young widow Mia as she moves into an architecturally designed house that has stood empty for nearly 25 years. Mia senses that the house harbors a dark secret about its former residents - the world-renowned architect Kurt Wittman and his wife Charlotte, who left him. Mia's friend Anna Munthe becomes fascinated by the couple's story and decides to uncover the truth in a podcast.

The novel is structured around three narrative threads: established truths seen from the outside, Mia's experiences in the house, and flashbacks from the architect couple's private life. Through them, the book explores the difference between love that exploits and love that liberates - and everything that happens behind closed doors.

Sanne Søndergaard is an author and former comedian, trained journalist, and has been active in equality work for over 20 years. She debuted in 2008 with the young adult novel Kære Dødsbog and has since published several YA books, the autobiographical Solo, and the short story collection NEJ.

The event takes place in the Storm P Hall at Hovedbiblioteket in Esbjerg.
