Knitting is trendy today, but there's a world of difference between today's colourful sweaters and a time when knitting was a necessity - and idle hands were the devil's playthings.

Kasper Thomsen challenges our assumptions with humour and quirky stories about who knitted, why they did it, and what knitting actually tells us about the past. Kasper Thomsen is a knitter, history student, and works at Den Gamle By in Aarhus.
